USA
The needs of the people in the United States have been near and dear to the hearts of the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany since 1859. Our Sisters serve from Massachusetts to Florida in hospitals, schools, and social and medical centers for the poor and homeless. READ MORE

The educational needs of the Jamaican people have been met since 1879. We founded St. Joseph Teachers’ College and continue to minister in several educational facilities and centers that serve spiritual, social, and health needs of the people of Jamaica. READ MORE
Brazil
In 1946, two Sisters left Allegany, NY to open a school in Pires do Rio, Brazil. To this day, the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany continue to staff schools. They are also involved in the ministry to the sick, in social and pastoral work, leadership training and spiritual direction. READ MORE
Bolivia
In 1965, the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany responded to the needs of the poor in Bolivia. The Good News of the Gospel continues to be the focus of our Sisters’ ministry where they help families in need of food, clothing, medical supplies, school supplies and transportation to school. Sr. Elvira Donaldson and Sr. Maria Miranda (pictured) continue to serve in Bolivia.

Tree of Life Giving Program
Commemorate a joyous event (like a birthday, wedding or anniversary) or memorialize a loved one with a permanent dedication on our NEW Tree of Life. Donations made to the Tree of Life giving program assist us in helping the Sisters continue to serve the poor, homeless, sick, hungry and needy of Brazil, Bolivia, Jamaica and the United States.
